Safety Week

Welcome back to another post celebrating the National Safety Month of June. This week’s topic addresses workplace fall injuries. Slips, trips, and falls were the second leading cause of workplace death and the third leading cause of workplace injuries resulting in days away from work in 2020. Falls can happen anywhere at any time. Whether it’s working at heights or tripping at floor level, you always need to keep your eyes out for hazards.

Better understanding the data can help you prevent needless injuries.

Safety Wednesday!

As we continue to celebrate National Safety Month, we’ve created another post centered around accident prevention. This week we’ll address Workplace Injury Prevention. Overexertion (e.g., lifting, pushing, pulling, holding, or carrying objects) and bodily reactions have long been the leading cause of work-related injuries and illnesses, with the recent exception of COVID-19 in 2020.  Included below is information to increase awareness of the greatest injury and illness risks on the job.

Safety Month

Welcome back to another post celebrating the National Safety Month of June. This week’s topic addresses workplace impairment and recognizing the signs. The National Safety Council defines impairment as the inability to function normally or safely because of several factors such as: chemical substances (e.g., alcohol, opioids), physical factors (e.g., fatigue and certain medical conditions), social factors (e.g., professional, and other stressors) and mental distress (e.g., related illness and other factors). At PSG we focus on the safety of our employees and do our best to ensure each employee is cognizant of their surroundings and able to perform their job function at a high level.

Safety Month!

U.S. National Safety Month, celebrated in the month of June, focuses on how employers and employees can keep their environments safe and hazard-free. This week we focus on Musculoskeletal Disorders, which include common injuries such as rotator cuff tears, back strains, and carpal tunnel syndrome. These injuries are the most common causes of disability and early retirement among employees.  At PSG we keep our employees informed and trained on the latest safety processes and procedures to ultimately help prevent injuries to themselves and others. The best way to stop fire from threatening your workplace and employees is to prevent the initial spark from igniting in the first place. Other electric appliances and machines around your workplace could easily become fire hazards. Check around your work area for common fire traps and keep computers, monitors, printers, etc., up to date and replace old or damaged wiring immediately. At PSG, we properly train and educate our employees to help everyone understand the latest safety procedures and importance of maintaining a safe working environment.

Whether in an office or at a jobsite, having a clean workspace will positively impact your job satisfaction and keep you and your coworkers free from potential hazards. A messy workspace could create trip and fall hazards, or potentially hide other workplace hazards. At PSG, we properly train and educate our employees to help everyone understand the latest safety procedures and importance of maintaining a safe working environment.
