
Please save the date for the EPRI Steam Turbine Generator User Group (TGUG), Turbine Generator Workshop, TGUG Technology Fair – August 2023, being held August 14 – 18, 2023.
The conference includes a two-day, Steam Turbine, Generator & Auxiliary Systems Workshop, a two-evening Technology Fair, presentations from each major Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), peer-to-peer round table forums, highlights of recent operating experience and outage challenges, and subject matter expert training.
The workshop will include topical presentations and discussions on current industry challenges and strategies for improving steam turbine and generator asset performance in thermal and nuclear power plants.
Generator & Auxiliary topics will include monitoring, thermal sensitivity, shorted turns, stator cooling, iso phase bus, grid reliability, gas purity, synchronous condensers, repairs, life management, and voltage regulator. Steam turbine topics include lubrication and control oil systems, outage experience, repairs, upgrades, valve actuators, and servos, abnormal operating events, condition monitoring, recent outage experience, steam chemistry, and flexible operation experience.
Following the workshop is the TGUG members meeting with Wednesday face-to-face OEM discussions based on member topics, (Siemens Energy Plant tour is planned in the afternoon), Thursday TGUG meeting with round table discussions and member-specific operating experience, and concluding with Friday ½ day SME training session.
