Safety Week

Welcome back to another post celebrating the National Safety Month of June. This week’s topic addresses workplace fall injuries. Slips, trips, and falls were the second leading cause of workplace death and the third leading cause of workplace injuries resulting in days away from work in 2020. Falls can happen anywhere at any time. Whether it’s working at heights or tripping at floor level, you always need to keep your eyes out for hazards.

Better understanding the data can help you prevent needless injuries.

Safety Wednesday!

As we continue to celebrate National Safety Month, we’ve created another post centered around accident prevention. This week we’ll address Workplace Injury Prevention. Overexertion (e.g., lifting, pushing, pulling, holding, or carrying objects) and bodily reactions have long been the leading cause of work-related injuries and illnesses, with the recent exception of COVID-19 in 2020.  Included below is information to increase awareness of the greatest injury and illness risks on the job.

Safety Month

Welcome back to another post celebrating the National Safety Month of June. This week’s topic addresses workplace impairment and recognizing the signs. The National Safety Council defines impairment as the inability to function normally or safely because of several factors such as: chemical substances (e.g., alcohol, opioids), physical factors (e.g., fatigue and certain medical conditions), social factors (e.g., professional, and other stressors) and mental distress (e.g., related illness and other factors). At PSG we focus on the safety of our employees and do our best to ensure each employee is cognizant of their surroundings and able to perform their job function at a high level.
